The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized diamonds, jewelry, and cash worth ₹42.56 crores from the residence of former IAS officer Mohinder Singh and directors of Hasinda Project Private Limited (HPPL). In addition, a large number of property documents were also recovered. The ED has initiated an investigation under the Money Laundering Act.
Lucknow. During searches at the residences of Mohinder Singh and HPPL directors, the ED confiscated diamonds, jewelry, and cash, including ₹85 lakhs in cash, along with numerous property documents.
Information about six bank lockers belonging to the company directors was also uncovered. The searches, conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday across 12 locations in Meerut, Delhi, Chandigarh, and Goa, led to the revelation of the seized assets on Friday.
From Mohinder Singh’s residence in Chandigarh, a single diamond valued at ₹5.26 crores was recovered. Several documents related to benami properties were also found.
Mohinder Singh, a 1978 batch IAS officer, previously served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Noida Authority and was regarded as one of the influential officials during the BSP regime. He retired on July 31, 2012.
